Film Work
Over the years, I had to learn quite a bit of basic film editing and on the way also had a short film commissioned. I've included a couple of the projects I worked on here.
Adventum Finalem
Adventum Finalem, featuring the story of Paul Isley III in his battle with cancer while publishing the first-ever English edition of a rare text by a 16th century saint, is the most adventurous. I worked on this with Raíza Pantoja, a Brazilian filmmaker based in Illinois.
What is included here, exclusively for members of The Kaleidoscope, is still a draft form but the final version will be available publicly elsewhere soon.
Love Songs
I had the privilege of working with a dear friend, Elizabeth Mirzaei, on this video. An Oscar nominee for her beautiful film Three Songs for Benazir, she generously filmed this with me and was critical for determining location and the ideas for the storyline. We worked together on the concept, I handled costuming, makeup, and editing, and her daughter joined me at the end!
Run to You
I worked with two lovely, talented women (Veronica Harvey and McCall McLellan) who coordinated the remote filming of this with the exquisite performance at the Salt Lakes in Utah.
It was a total joy to make this, although unbelievably time-consuming for the edit. Most people don't know how much time video editing takes! It's certainly been a learning curve for me. Film is, I think, the most demanding form of media to create in.
I still want to make a video with more of the dance footage for the original version of the song one day.

I had the idea to try to capture something of the haunting nature of this composition of mine with a veil, candle, and one-take video. I wanted an intentionally timeless film quality to the visual. Shot on iPhone! So much is possible these days.
